The Slimline This pen is the most popular of the line. It is small and fits any hand nicely. It takes a Cross style refill. A"wide" slimline pen is also available. It's design lends itself to all kinds of possibilities. It features 10 karat gold on the clip, band and nib. It can be paired with a slimline mechanical pencil to create a handsome gift set.(see Gallery for example) At Christmas 20o9 the Slimline pen outsold all others. The most popular wood was Bethlehem Olivewood. The Slimline pictured below is made from Spalted Maple.

The Extra-large Double-twist Cigar (No, that is not a Starbucks order!) This pen is made for a large hand and is hefty. It is nicely balanced and writes smoothly. It uses a Parker-style refill. The pen pictured here is made from Maple Burl. (this pen has been christened "Navigator" because it looks like an antique map. One of the joys of working with Maple Burl is never knowing what it will look like until it stops spinning)

The Flat-top American The pen pictured here is made from Maple Burl and brushed 10 karat gold. The barrel screws into the cap from both ends. One can write with just the barrel or if more balance or heft is needed then the cap can be screwed on the end to complete it.

The El Grande looks like it would be heavy but it is remarkably light in the hand. Unlike the Flat-top the cap is pressure fit on the barrel while in use. It is not as secure as the Flat-top but still provides additional length and balance to the pen when in use. It uses 10 karat gold for the clip and bands. The El Grande fountain pen can be fitted with a fine or broad nib. The rollerball is spring loaded so that you can maintain even pressure on the page while writing. A very nice feature.

The Baron has a 14 karat gold clip and center band. It can also be made in closed end fashion (as shown here) which means that the barrel and/or the cap can be fashioned of wood alone (without a clip). The Baron pictured below is made with Amboyna Burl from Southeast Asia.

The Cambridge is fashioned from the finest of the exotic woods and features titanium gold and sterling silver on the clip and bands. The nib for the fountain pen is titanium gold and iridium. The Cambridge is one of the finest writing instruments you will ever own or give away.

The Sierra is a single twist pen that is elegant and suitable to both the male and female hand. The metal in this pen is 10 karat gold. It is not a heavy pen but fits nicely between the forefinger and thumb. Like the Cigar pen it writes very smoothly. It takes a Parker style refill.

All of the roller-ball pens come equipped with a standard roller-ball refill and the fountain pens with one ink cartridge and a converter. The Slimline takes a Cross style refill, the Cigar and Sierra take a Parker style refill. Note: all of the pens are unique and those displayed on this page are representative of the various styles. The pen you order may not look exactly like the one in the picture even if you have requested the same wood. This is especially true of any of the "burl" woods.
The pens are made out of any number of exotic hardwoods grown in various parts of the world including those indigenous to North America. I am also happy to take a piece of wood that has special significance to you (part of an old favorite tree or limb that has fallen, wood from a favorite chair, piece of a cottage window sill, doorstep, frame, etc. and fashion that into a pen). Please note that all woods used are harvested responsibly and meet the strictest environmental standards and guidelines for use and sale of such woods.
